Proper permissions are required for LinkFixer Advanced to process files successfully.
Required Access
Your windows user account must have read and write access to all location being processed, including:
- Network locations
- Servers
- Shared folders
- Directories and files
Folder Permissions
The following folders require Full Control access (including all files and subfolders):
- C:\ProgramData\LinkTek\LinkFixer Advanced\
- C:\Users\Public\Desktop\LinkFixer Advanced\
Important Notes
- LinkFixer Advanced must be able to access and modify the files being processed. Password protection or encryption that prevents LinkFixer Advanced from accessing a file must therefore be removed before processing.
Exception: LinkFixer Advanced can process password-protected Microsoft Word (.doc and .docx) and Excel (.xls and .xlsx) files when the required passwords are provided using LinkFixer Advanced's password-list feature.
