Why the “Offline” Activation Method May Not Work
Modified on: Fri, 6 Mar, 2026 at 9:28 AM
Before proceeding, verify that the license supports offline activation. Not all licenses allow activation using the offline method. If offline activation is supported, follow the steps below.
The most common reason the offline activation process
fails is related to what happens between generating the "request file" and
entering the "response" file.
Each "request" file is unique and must be matched with
its corresponding "response" file.
Common Cause of the Issue
Activation problems often occur when the process follows
this sequence:
Open
the Activation dialog and generate the "request" file.
Close
the Activation dialog.
Send
the "request" file to the license server and receive a "response" file.
Reopen
the Activation dialog.
Continue
through the Activation dialog until prompted to input the "response" file.
Enter
the "response" file.
When the Activation dialog is reopened in step 4, the
software generates a new "request" file. This new "request" file requires a different "response" file, which means the original "response" file will no longer match
and the activation of LinkFixer Advanced will fail.
Correct Activation Procedure
To ensure the process works correctly, follow these steps:
Open
the Activation dialog and generate the "request" file.
Keep
the Activation dialog open.
Send
the "request" file to the license server and obtain the "response" file.
Enter
the "response" file directly into the open Activation dialog.
If the Issue Persists
If activation still fails after following the correct
procedure, please send the activation log files to our support team.
Navigate
to the folder: "LinkFixer Advanced\Logs\" on your desktop.
Locate
the current log file named LinkFixer.log.
Compress
(zip) this file along with any other log files created on the same date.
Name
the ZIP file using your company name (for example: CompanyName_LinkFixerLogs.zip).
Our support team will review the logs to help diagnose and
resolve the issue.
