The best time to use LinkFixer Advanced is before moving or renaming files, while the links between documents are still working. For example, if your organization plans to move documents into a document management system such as SharePoint, it is recommended to run LinkFixer Advanced prior to the move.

LinkFixer Advanced can protect existing links so they can be automatically repaired after files are relocated. Alternatively, you can use the built-in Move/Rename process to move files directly within LinkFixer Advanced, which preserves and updates links automatically as each file is moved.

LinkFixer Advanced can also be extremely helpful after files have already been moved or renamed and links have been broken. In many cases, the Modify Links process can repair these broken links. To do this, you simply provide a list of the changes made to file names or locations during the move.

Using these patterns, LinkFixer Advanced can automatically repair broken links across one or multiple batches of files, helping save significant time and effort.
