When LinkFixer Advanced inoculates an Access parent file, it creates a hidden table called LinkTek. This table stores the LinkIDs that make the Cure process possible.

Key Points

  1. Purpose: The Linktek table keeps track of LinkIDs, which connect links in the parent files to the correct child files.
  2. Visibility: The table is hidden by default. You'll only see it if you enable "view hidden/system tables" in Access.
  3. Persistence: The table is not automatically removed after the Cure process, because you may need those LinkIDs again in the future.

Should you keep it?

  1. Recommended: Keep the LinkTek table if you think you might need to cure links in these Access file again later.
  2. Optional removal: if you're certain you don't need it, you can manually delete the table from each Access file.

Removing LinkTek from many files

If you need to remove this table from a large number of Access files, please open a Support ticket. We have tools that can help automate the process.
