MIME stands for Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions. It is a standard used to classify file types on the internet, allowing systems such as web servers and browsers to correctly identify and handle files regardless of the operating system.

Why MIME Types Matter

MIME types ensure that files are:
  1. Properly recognized by applications
  1. Transferred and processed consistently across systems

MIME Setting in LinkFixer Advanced

In LinkFixer Advanced, the MIME setting is used when working with OpenText files that:
  1. Do not have a file extension, or
  1. Have incorrect or missing MIME type information
When this setting is enabled, LinkFixer Advanced will automatically assign the correct MIME type when files are checked into the OpenText Content Server.

Note: This setting is disabled by default.

How to Enable the MIME Setting

1. Open the Main menu
2. Go to Settings
3. Select the OpenText tab
4. Enable Set MIME type when checking in files
