What does the "SharePoint Versioning Detected" message mean?

This message means LinkFixer Advanced has detected that versioning is enabled in your current SharePoint library and is asking whether you want to temporarily disable versioning before your files are modified.

When SharePoint versioning is enabled, the file version number will increment when LinkFixer Advanced modifies that file. If you want to prevent new versions from being created during processing, you can enable the “Disable SharePoint versioning before processing files” option.

The setting affects Major Versioning, Minor Versioning, and Draft Version Visibility. It does not modify Required Checkout or Content Approval settings.

The impact of processing files with versioning enabled can vary depending on the SharePoint library's versioning configuration, which is why we recommend discussing your specific setup with Support.

When “Disable SharePoint versioning before processing files” is enabled, LinkFixer Advanced temporarily disables versioning before processing and restores the original versioning settings once processing is complete.

Additionally, if processing is interrupted before versioning can be restored, you can restart LinkFixer Advanced. A dialog box will appear notifying you that versioning was disabled during the previous session but was not restored, prompting you to confirm whether you would like LinkFixer Advanced to re-enable it.
