The Link Types section of the Process Dashboard provides a count of all links encountered during processing, including file links, folder links, external web links, email links, unsupported links, and any other types not falling into these categories. The dashboard also displays the overall total of links processed. The pie chart and associated counts update dynamically as the process runs.

  1. Represents standard links between files, including hyperlinks and OLE links.
  2. Valid, working file links can typically be inoculated by LinkFixer Advanced.
  1. Indicates links that point to a folder rather than a specific file.
  2. Folder links cannot be inoculated or cured, but they can be repaired using the Modify Links process.
  1. Shows links that point to external websites.
  2. These cannot be inoculated because the target file cannot be modified.
  3. By default, external web links are not validated, since checking them can significantly slow performance.
  4. Validation can be enabled under:
Options | Web Access | Web Options.
  1. Represents links that point to an email address instead of a file.
  2. Email links cannot be inoculated or cured, but they can be repaired using the Modify Links process.
  1. Includes links that cannot be verified as valid or broken, contain invalid characters, or have parsing errors.
  2. Also includes internal links that point to locations within the same file.
  3. Internal links usually do not need processing because they do not break when files are moved or renamed.
