Setting Up a Delta Process in LinkFixer Advanced
Modified on: Mon, 9 Mar, 2026 at 4:01 PM
A Delta Process in LinkFixer Advanced allows you to process only files that have been modified after a specific date. This approach improves performance by avoiding reprocessing files that have not changed.
Follow the steps below to configure a Delta Process using Expert Filtering Rules.
1. Select the Process
From the Home screen, select the process you want to run (for example: Scan, Inoculate, Cure, Modify Links, or Move/Rename).
2. Select the Target Locations
Ensure you have selected the correct target folders or locations that you want the process to run against.
3. Enable Expert Filtering Rules
In the Select Files view:
- Select Process files using expert filtering rules.
2. Click the Add button on the right side of the screen.
4. Create the First Rule (Exclude)
In the rule configuration window:
- Set Type to Exclude.
2. Set Component to Full file spec.
3. Configure the Rule as required (to exclude files already processed).
4. Click OK.
5. Create the Second Rule (Include)
1. Click Add again to create the second rule.
2. Set Type to Include.
3. Set Component to File Modification Date.
4. Set Rule to Is greater or equal to.
5. Set the Filter value to the date you want to use.
Note:
LinkFixer Advanced will only process files that have been modified on or after the selected date, including any new links created in those files.
6. After selecting the date, click OK.
6. Verify Rule Order
You should now see two rules listed in this order:
- Exclude – Full file spec
- Include – File Modification Date (Is greater or equal to)
Maintaining this order ensures the filtering works correctly.
7. Run the Process
Once the rules are configured:
- Continue through the remaining steps of the process wizard.
- Review your settings.
- Run the selected LinkFixer Advanced process.
This configuration allows LinkFixer Advanced to efficiently process only newly modified files, significantly reducing processing time in large environments.
