If shared folders are not mapped as network drives, you can
still access them in LinkFixer Advanced by adding them as Network
Locations in Windows. This allows the application to recognize and work
with UNC paths (for example: \\server\share).
Follow the steps below to add and use a Network Location in
LinkFixer Advanced.
Add a Network Location in Windows
1. Open
Windows Explorer.
2. Navigate
to This PC.
3. Click
Add a network location.
4. Follow
the Add Network Location Wizard.
5. When
prompted, enter the UNC path or shared folder path you want
to map (for example: \\server\sharedfolder).
6. Complete
the wizard to create the Network Location.
7. Once finished, the mapped Network Location will appear in
Windows alongside your other locations.
8. Launch
LinkFixer Advanced (or restart the application if it is already
open).
9. Click
the Main Menu (☰) in the upper-left corner
of the main window.
10. Select
Network Locations.
11. Confirm
that the newly added Network Location appears in the list.
12. Use the Network Location in a LinkFixer Process
13. Open
any LinkFixer process, such as:
- Scan
- Inoculate
- Cure
- Move/Rename
- Modify
Links
14. In
the Select Folders section, expand the Network Locations
node.
15. Select
the desired folders within the mapped location.
16. Run
the process as needed.
