When configuring LinkFixer Advanced to use Microsoft SQL Server, you should create a separate, blank database specifically for LinkFixer Advanced. The application will automatically create the required database schema during setup.

Do not create tables or schemas manually before connecting LinkFixer Advanced. The application is designed to handle this configuration itself.

Database Requirements

When preparing a SQL Server database for LinkFixer Advanced, ensure the following requirements are met:

Blank Database

Create a new, empty database that will be used exclusively by LinkFixer Advanced.

User Permissions

The database user configured in LinkFixer Advanced must have read and write permissions for the database.

Default Schema

The database must use the default schema ("dbo").

LinkFixer Advanced creates its schema objects within the default schema and does not use named schemas. Because the application operates entirely within a single schema, conflicts with other schemas are unlikely.

Important Notes

  • Do not reuse an existing database that already contains tables or schemas unrelated to LinkFixer Advanced.
  • Allow LinkFixer Advanced to automatically create and manage its required database objects.
  • Ensure the SQL Server user account has sufficient permissions before configuring the connection.
