The basename is the main part of a file name, without the disk, folder, or extension.
Examples:
  1. The full filespec "C:\work\myfile.xls" has a basename of "myfile"
  2. The URL "http://www.mysite.com/index.htm" has a basename of "index"

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open LinkFixer Advanced and select Move/Rename.

  2. Select "Create Rules" and click the "Add Rule".

  3. Select the Component drop down menu and select Basename.

  4. Either type in or click Browse and navigate to the file you want to modify.
Notice: Only include the basename itself in the "From:" and "To:" fields.
LinkFixer Advanced treats only the file name itself as the basename. The preceding slash (/) or backslash (\) is not included

  5. Click "OK" to save the rule.
