How Do I Add a SharePoint Site to LinkFixer Advanced?
Modified on: Fri, 6 Mar, 2026 at 10:44 AM
LinkFixer Advanced allows you to connect and add SharePoint
Online or SharePoint on-premises sites directly from within the application.
Once added, these locations can be selected when running LinkFixer Advanced
processes.
Adding a SharePoint Site
To add a SharePoint site in LinkFixer Advanced:
1. Open
the Menu (☰) in the application.
2. Navigate
to Network Locations.
3. Click
Add, then select SharePoint.
4. Enter
the SharePoint Site Collection URL.
5. Select
the authentication method you want to use.
6. Click
Test Connection to verify that the credentials and connection are valid.
7. Click
OK to save the configuration.
SharePoint Authentication Types
LinkFixer Advanced supports several authentication methods
depending on your SharePoint environment:
Windows Authentication
Uses the same credentials as the Windows user currently logged in. This option
applies only to SharePoint on-premises environments.
Username/Password Authentication
Standard authentication using a username and password. This method does not
support Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Additionally, since Microsoft has discontinued support for this Single Sign-On (SSO) method, username and password authentication is no longer usable.
Office 365 Authentication
Designed for Microsoft 365 accounts with MFA enabled. This option supports MFA
and allows LinkFixer Advanced to access SharePoint Online.
Office 365 with Admin Consent
Recommended for MFA-enabled environments. This method preserves important file
metadata, including:

For detailed instructions on configuring Office 365
authentication, see the article:
Make sure to click {Test Connection} to ensure credentials and the connection to the SharePoint site is successful.
Important Configuration Note
When working with SharePoint Online, you should add both of
the following to LinkFixer Advanced:
The specific
SharePoint site collection that contains the files you want to process.
However, when selecting folders during a process, do not
select the root SharePoint site if you are processing files from other site
collections.
Adding the root site allows LinkFixer Advanced to correctly
distinguish between the tenant root site collection and other site collections,
which improves reporting accuracy.
Using the SharePoint Site in LinkFixer Advanced
Once a SharePoint site or site collection has been added:
Using Multiple Credentials (Optional)
LinkFixer Advanced supports multiple SharePoint or OneDrive
credentials. This feature helps reduce the chances of Microsoft throttling
during large SharePoint Online processing jobs.
For setup instructions, see the article:
